Arsenal Go Three Points Clear at Top of Premier League After Thumping Win Over Chelsea
Havertz and White Both Score Twice During Dominant Gunners
Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to three points with a dominant 4-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Clinical Arsenal Punish Wasteful Chelsea
The Gunners took the lead in the fifth minute when Kai Havertz headed in Bukayo Saka's cross. Arsenal doubled their advantage just before the half-hour mark when Ben White tapped in from close range after a goalmouth scramble. Havertz added his second of the game just before half-time, volleying home from Granit Xhaka's cross.
White then completed the scoring in the second half with a header from Saka's cross. The win moves Arsenal three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table, while Chelsea remain eighth.
Havertz and White Impress for Arsenal
Havertz and White were both in impressive form for Arsenal. Havertz scored twice and was a constant threat to the Chelsea defense, while White was solid at the back and also scored a goal.
Wasteful Chelsea Rue Missed Chances
Chelsea had their chances in the game, but they were wasteful in front of goal. Raheem Sterling missed a great opportunity to equalize in the first half, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also spurned a good chance late on.
